Maegan June Collins, our first artist-in-residence of 2025, is a ceramic artist and educator from Canada. She has been spending a month at TESA developing her creative project. On June 28 and 29, Maegan shared her artistic process and residency experiences with visitors.

Maegan is based in Toronto and has been working as a ceramics instructor and kiln technician at Dexterity Lab since 2022. She holds a Ceramics Certificate from the Kootenay School of Art (2022), an Honours Bachelor of Landscape Architecture from the University of Guelph, and an Environmental Citizenship Certificate. She has received the Advanced Throwing Scholarship and the Robert & Audrey Denison Memorial Award, recognizing her talent and potential in ceramics.

Maegan has participated in various exhibitions in Canada and internationally, including the FUSION 50th Anniversary Ceramics and Glass Exhibition at the Gardiner Museum in Toronto and the Annual Cup Show in Florida, USA. She has also held a solo exhibition at Clay Design and is active in organizations such as Craft Ontario and FUSION Clay and Glass.

This residency is not only an art project but also a journey of cultural reflection and dialogue with nature. As an artist of Taiwanese heritage who grew up in Canada, Maegan combines her background in ceramics and landscape architecture to explore the connections between nature, memory, and cultural identity.
